- Detroit Edison promotes the use of Coal Combustion Products (fly ash and bottom ash) as a substitute aggregate in various manufacturing processes such as the production of concrete. In 2005, 144,959 tons were sold and 15,453 tons were donated for beneficial reuse saving virgin materials, energy and landfill costs.
