Energy Supply Solutions

• Weyerhaeuser pulp and paper mills supply 72% and wood products facilities supply more than 52% of their own energy needs through biomass fuels. In the course of one year, our use of biomass fuel saves enough oil to supply the United States, Canada and Mexico for one day.
  
  
• Weyerhaeuser continues to install cogeneration (also known as “combined heat and power” or CHP) in a number of its pulp and paper mills. Several of its pulp and paper mills have received EPA's Energy Star CHP Awards in recognition of their accomplishments in improved fuel efficiency and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.

Energy Demand Solutions

• In 2004, Weyerhaeuser used 26% less energy to produce a ton of product than it did in 1999.
