Jim Barrett is a Senior Economist on the Democratic Staff of the Joint Economic Committee of the U.S. Congress, focusing on energy and environmental matters. Worker Transition & Global Climate Change was written while he was an economist at the Economic Policy Institute in Washington, DC. Dr. Barrett's most recent work involves incorporating bottom-up engineering analyses into a top-down macroeconometric model of the U.S. economy. Assessments of macro and sectoral impacts will be released this winter. His ongoing work includes employment and economic impacts of environmental and energy policies.

Dr. Barrett received his B.A. in economics from Bucknell University and his M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut.
