PEW CENTER ON GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGE JOINED BY DUKE ENERGY CEO
AT COPENHAGEN PRESS BRIEFING
On Thursday December 10, the Pew Center on Global Climate Change holds a press briefing at the Copenhagen Climate Change Talks to provide an assessment of likely outcomes in Copenhagen and beyond and to address the key role of business in advancing strong climate action in the U.S. and globally. Jim Rogers, CEO of Duke Energy, one of the largest U.S. electric power companies, will join the Pew Center’s Elliot Diringer to offer insights into the U.S. and global climate and clean energy debate.
Duke Energy is a long-standing member of the Pew Center’s Business Environmental Leadership Council (BELC), the largest U.S.-based association of corporations focused on addressing the challenges of climate change. BELC includes 46 companies representing over $2 trillion in combined revenue and more than 4 million employees. The Pew Center and Duke Energy are part of the U.S. Climate Action Partnership (USCAP), an influential coalition of businesses and leading NGOs that have come together to call on the U.S. federal government to quickly enact strong national legislation to require significant reductions of greenhouse gas emissions.
