PNM Resources’ utility in New Mexico, PNM, purchases all energy produced by the 200 megawatt New Mexico Wind Energy Center, located near House, N.M.
PNM Sky Blue™, a wind energy product for PNM retail electric customers, in 2007 was ranked eighth in the nation for consumer participation among investor-owned utilities.
In summer 2007, PNM announced a collaborative effort with the Electric Power Research Institute, other federal laboratories and a few Southwestern utilities to investigate the feasibility of building a large-scale concentrating solar project in New Mexico. The first phase of that study should be completed by the end of 2007.
